Eliot is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop where he was a Truman Capote Fellow. His debut novel, PONYBOY (Norton, ’23), was the first book with a trans protagonist to be nominated for The National Book Award. He teaches a workshop called Exquisite Love: Madness as Divinity through Literature. He lives in New York City.

I offer manuscript consultations, developmental edits and book coaching. My pricing is tiered to make this service available to everyone. I work with writers who have a full length manuscripts and with writers on a monthly basis as they generate their project. I work with writers who have written many books and writers who are beginning long form writing for the first time. I particularly enjoy voicey, first person work and I specialize in solidifying the ever illusive voice (consciousness) of a text. My editorial services include both the detailed perceptual focus on the level of the line and a broad, philosophical view of the project as a whole. I do not offer maps, charts or hacks. We generate, read, question, write and create a world that only you can, one step at a time. I am particularly interested and attentive to the central, knowing place that writing comes from(what we often refer to as the ‘stakes’ of the story).

The only thing required to be a writer is to write. If you dream of writing a book, it’s because you’re meant to write it.
